Well recorded document of a traditionally excellent event
Pretre was perhaps an unexpected choice to lead the Weiner Philharmoniker. However he proved an adept and charming personality on the podium and was slightly responsible for many of the French-themed items - several premieres at this particular event. The live concert is always well recorded and those used to watching on television with unexceptional sound will be thrilled by the presence and balance the engineers actually bring to it.
