good and spirit based
these wood dyes are best for my needs being spirit based rather than water based. others may find that water based is best for them. I have a good selection of these on hand just in case I need to touch a scratch up.

Ideal wood dye
I used to use Colron wood dyes but now that they have moved over to a water based product I just don't like them. Rustins is a solvent base which seems to penetrate the wood better ands give a more even finish.
