Knotting for sealing knots, resinous and creosoted timber to prevent bleeding through paint film. Do not sandpaper knotting once applied. Knotting should not be used under polyurethane clear varnishes or water based varnishes and water based paints.

No good with water based paint
Disappointed with Rustins. Unlike patent knotting solution this showed through several layers of oil based undercoat and is incompatible with water based undercoat (made the undercoat craze). Have gone back to Flag patent knotting solution.

500ml bottle it go,s a long way very easy to paint on and quick to dry you need at least 2 coats over knots the more the better.
