A good value purchase that is essential for good car maintenance.
Something a lot of people forget to do. But, if like me you use a lot of supermarket fuel, it's a good idea to periodically use an injector cleaner of some type to make sure those injectors keep firing a mist spray and not an old mans dribble into your cylinder head. Redex has been proved to keep injectors in top condition. (Check out redex and fifth gear on youtube). Unsure if it is worth it
If you have purchased this as you are concerned about the so-called quality of supermarket fuel, which may or may not omit some beneficial addititives that are supposedly in the fuel from the big branded forecourts (and I have seen contradictory articles regarding this); and this was a recommended purchase to add each time you fill up your car. Well, the cost of a bottle of this is probably more than the saving you make each time you use a supermarket forecourt so you perhaps may just as well pay the extra for the "premium" fuel at the pump or from one of the larger fuel providers. Truth is, I don't know eithert way. I am sure that adding this isn't doing any harm but without proper research from experts, I can't say either way whether adding this will make a difference or is worth the money spent. Seems to be helping...
Realising that this won't be an immediate drastic improvement, but long term the initial results seem good. I'm definitely getting more response from the car on acceleration. 50mpg around town and the engine seems smoother. Yes this is on a 66 reg Clio and I'm using Shell diesel. I've just got the car so it's still adapting to my driving style. Only time will tell regarding the results. The product comes nicely packaged, but with one upside down so it fits. There is no doser with this and it's a little tricky to get it in the fuel tank hole without putting too much in, in one go. You literally need to offer it into the hole and quickly pull it out and down in one motion....one second if that.. Historic Engine Additive
This product was always available on garage forecourts many years ago, a few 'shots' of Redex when you got fuel. Things have moved on and Redex now has multiple answers for different engines. I have used this product for many years, adding it every time my car is refuelled and invariably getting a very clean bill of health for the engine at the next M.O.T.. Use the to good effect in our 11 year old diesel Clio
A year or so ago we had a problem with our 11 year old diesel Clio. It started as a miss fire and then the problem increased to where there was no power and a lot of black smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. It turned out that the exhaust gas recycle valve was all gummed up and it cost £500 to fix. After that I started to add Redex Diesel treatment and the car was fine. I then did not bother for a few tank fulls and sure enough the engine hesitation came back. Quickly going back to Redex soon cured the problem before it required more expensive garage work and now I put it in routinely. In my opinion the engine runs more quietly and smoother and I don’t get any of the hesitation we had before. Great Additive for clean engine.

Purchased the redex due to the DPF regenerating often due to my low mileage trips. Have put some in my tank when refilled. If it does what it claims its should reduce the build up of exhaust deposits and increase the mpg due to burning them off at a lower temperature.
