Watchable weapon wielding historical nonsense (hurrah!)
A great series if you like a bit of sword play albeit carried out by butch dudes in eyeliner! I got the first couple of seasons cheap locally, I was sceptical at first but by the end of the first season I was quite happy with it and decided to invest in the whole shbang. Unlike some series I was concerned about whether the characters lived or died, I found myself watching several episodes in an evening. It’s not as quite as gory as GOT and has far less nudity..pity.. Based loosely in history but don’t be concerned if you know nothing of that..I certainly don’t and I found myself none the wiser by the end but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the series either. Apparently it is based on a series of novels..whatever! No dragons..only minor suggestions of magic..it is supposed to be based on history after all! You can’t have it all.
