Costly, it works and gives better access to the controls
Over time I have ensured all my DeWalt power tools have the right interface / port to provide efficient dust extraction, if at purchase the unit does not come with the right port connector I will invariably buy one as they are more efficient and actually fit and work properly. Even my non DeWalt tools have a DeWalt port connector to their dust extraction systems. This was an costly buy for what it is, but it is well made and fit for purpose, just, on a power tool that has the least effective dust removal set up of all my power tools. The port connector just marginally makes it better when working inside or in closed environments. It’s OK and sky feeling is that DeWalt should provide it on initial purchase across all their tool range which increasingly they are doing to be fair. This is a costly convenience but it works better than my previous stepped generic rubber pipe set up allowing me better access to the controls and handling which is its most significant benefit, IMHO.
