I use it with my yeti.
At first I was dubious about the boom arm but bought it because the pivots on the arm can be tightened to lock it into place. I use a blue yeti (on the unofficial shock mount) and as you know the yeti is a fairly heavy mic. A yeti compatible shock mount is required if you use the yeti, as the boom arm isn't compatible out of the box. I bought an unofficial shock mount as the official one from Blue is in the region of £60.( I think I paid about £14 for the unofficial one) It suits my setup perfectly because it clamps to the edge of the shelf and can be adjusted as you need. So I can have it extended when I am broadcasting or recording, and when I'm not using it I just but the boom arm vertical and have the mic itself over the top of my TV and hanging down the back.
