Meduon tape player review
This item is amazing value and just for playing tapes with auto reverse you cannot beat it for value. I only bought mine for copying my tapes into mp3 but there is a lot of background noise and if volume is set too low then recorded sound is low too. After copying about 6 tapes the machine packed up. Supplier gave me a new one but I do not think they are made to last at that price. Just use mine to play odd tapes in my workshop with amplifier. I now copy tapes using a converter from one of my top tape players and the recorded sound is far better than the tevion. I think Aldi dropped them due to poor quality recording but as I said for normal playing they seem ok if they last. Mine might have been a one off bad one. Not played my replacement one enough to know if they are all suspect.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Disappointed
Having finally made the decision to buy Harriet Learner's tape at the exorbitant price of £35.00 and patiently waited for it to arrive from America, realised I had no tape player! So wanting to find something which could transfer it to CD I bought the TEVION Portable Cassette Converter. It arrived on time (four days since ordering) but on opening the box, found that the batteries were leaking and brown within their selophane wrapper! I bought new batteries, put in the tape and pressed PLAY. The sound was quiet but then the tape became distorted so I quickly stopped and opened it and to my horror, found that it had chewed it up! Recording from Cassettes
This enabled me to record from cassette tapes over 40 years old which are of great sentimental value. I can now transfer these tapes onto CD's - wonderful. This is an amazing item
I had old cassette tapes of my kids singing on their karaoke machines in the 80's and 90's when karaoke was all the rage! Fearing the cassettes would get lost or burst/ snap or that cassette players would become obsolete I purchased this in the hope that it would work and it did! I now have the kids "singing" (*~*) saved to my laptop in MP3 format, on my memory stick, for the car to make them suffer while I drive instead of me listening to their thump thump stuff in their car and I also have them on cd's. This is an excellent purchase to save all your collectable cassette recordings onto, it also copies shop bought cassettes you may still have. The only stumble I came upon was with the PDF download for the instructions to connect it to a PC or Laptop, I couldn't read it after downloading it, but I copied the pdf and mailed it to myself then opened up my email and downloaded it to my mobile, which is a bit more updated than my laptop! I was able to read the instructions easily on the process of connecting it to the pc / laptop and I read the instructions from my mobile while connecting the converter to my laptop. Not being as pc / laptop savvy as a lot of the younger generations I was surpised at how easy it is to connect it............ found this as easy as 1 2 3. I haven't bothered to transfer tapes to MP3s yet as this works so well as a tape player.

Troublesome Transfer

Only problem was the batteries supplied are very weak and shorter than normal AA's. Therefore, I would recommend ditching them and using Duracell.

It did what I wanted well and cheaply!
