This Riptunes MP-1874R functions for my intended use, but be aware of possible battery issues.
I purchased this Riptunes MP-1874R MP3 player to interface to a USB input and display on my vehicle’s monitor. It works well for this purpose, as well as when I upload music files to it from my PC. However, when I received this MP-1874R in its factory sealed package and opened it, the internal rechargeable battery was completely discharged. I then charged it from a USB port on my PC and was then able to upload and play music files as intended. However, since this MP-1874R is older and has been available for some time, there seems to be an issue with the internal battery. When I attempted to use the player independently from the USB interface, there was no display or functionality of the player. Since my use of the player is exclusively with my PC and my vehicle’s display and sound system, portable use of the player did not matter to me. However, due to the units age, apparently the internal battery has failed, and portable use of the player was not possible. A buyer should be aware that due to the age of the unit, even though it is still in its factory sealed package, full portable functionality may not be possible.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
