Smooth sustain. Compared to the SH-1 '59 Model, the Jazz has slightly less output and a more detailed treble response. Humbucker Neck position Recommended for jazz, but also country, blues, funk, classic rock and heavy rock Provides an articulate and clear tone When distorted, the tone is full and bright .
The stock pickups in ESP LTD MH100QM had served me well for 4 years. And they are good. But, I recently completed a rebuild project of a 'partscaster' - which started out as just the body. I had to source all the other parts to make the guitar giggable again. The pair of Seymour Duncan pickups were the components I didn't want to compromise on. And I'm glad I did. The guitar is solid and reliable, but the neck isn't the easiest to play. But, the SD pickups more than make up the difference. The signal is strong, the tone can be varied from classic rock to good old slow blues using the 3 position switch.
I'm very pleased with the result.
So, I bought another pair of the same SD pickups, and swapped out the stock pickups from my trusty ESP LTD MH 100QM. And, now I have two giggable guitars with the same tonal profile. Lucky me eh !
