Rustins Plastic Furniture Coating Gloss is a two-part cold cure lacquer with excellent adhesion and durability. Almost colourless and will not craze or yellow on ageing. Size: 1 litre. Re-coatable after 1-1.1/2 hours, floor can be used 2 hours after last coat has been applied.

This is an easy to use and very long-lasting product. I have been using it for more than 30 years for furniture surfaces that need to cope with heat and liquid spillages (e.g. kitchen tables). This current purchase is to enable me to refinish a coffee table I made in 1989 and has survived remarkably well despite the ‘attention’ of young children over the years. However, it needs ‘refreshing’ to remove a few indentations. The only downside of this product is its strong smell while curing. Wonderful alternaticve toDanish oil for worktops
Having spent 30+ years sanding down cleaning and oiling our worktop at yearly intervals I was amazed to find Riustins do a heatproof stainproof version. I followed the instructions exactly -it was easy to do and gave very good appearance but the fumes are very strong gave me a headache and feeling poorly WEAR A GOOD MASK! Waterproof, alcohol safe and stain resistant
I've used Rustins Plastic Coating for many years, for treating turned wooden wine goblets. I brush on 6 coats on the cup and 4 on the stem and foot. The result is a waterproof, stain resistant and alcohol safe finish - but not dishwasher-proof. I know of one of my goblets that has been used for a couple of glasses of red wine almost every day for about 5 years, and it's still going. The only drawbacks I've found are the smell while it's drying: plenty of ventilation needed.

Great for protecting worktops
Does a very good job on hardwood worktops. Very easy to mix and apply with a roller. Beware, the fumes are very strong and a good respirator is essential. I used this on my kitchen oak worktops. Light sand then applied 8 coats over 8 hour period. Great job dried quickly and finish is smooth and silky with no paint brush marks. No need to worry about spilling liquid or missing a wet patch as thin layer of hard plastic - resin to protect. Rustins Plastic Coating
Used it foe many years. Water and boil resistant, good for a sealing coat or building up layers for a superb finish. A light sanding between coats helps build a great finish. I use a 4 noughts steel wool and wax afterwards for a lasting sheen. AVM

Great for finishing musical instruments.
Wang on a few coats, sand with 400 grit carat paper, more coats, sand again.....finish with 400 then wet sand with 2000 wet and dry then buff with T-Cut......Gives a gorgeous, deep, tough finish like glass without the need for a spray gun.
