Ctek multi Max’s 5.0 12v smart charger

Sting in the tail
The appliance works well, the quality is good, but to secure on a wall beside a vehicle for use can be hampered as the mains lead is shorter certainly than I would wish. Clearly the manufacturer' s are aware of this as they market an extension cable at something like £15 which in an already expensive product is a sting in the tail as one is not aware at the purchase point of the original mains cable length. Either the mains cable should be a little longer or the actual length should be stated in the product information. I see this as very doubtful ethics. The extension cable is very expensive for what it is but at the same time a very profitable earner for the company. It would cost the manufacturers little to supply a slightly longer mains cable and I would not buy another on the basis of what I see as sharp practiceVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Smart Battery Charger
I used this charger on both my cars that had batteries with a low charge due to lack of use and cold weather etc . The charger was able recharge and recondition both batteries , and was safe to use outside in the rain without needing protection . The Led charging lights show the stage the charging process has reached ( useful in predicting when the charge process is complete ). Excellent Intelligent Charger
Bought this for my 110 amp leisure battery so that I can connect and forget. Have already got 2 Optimate chargers for my motorbikes, but this was my first CTEK. The quality is at least as good as the Optimate, but this CTEK is also powerful enough to charge my leisure batteries as well as the bike batteries, so it's very versatile. A very smart car battery charger
This clever bit of kit simply looks after itself while it's lookng after a car battery. I bought it to fix a common problem on my old SL500, which, like all similar models, suffers from a constant drain on the second "accessory" battery in the boot (trunk), which powers the "consumer electonics" -- including the central locking system. Hi-tech but easy to use

Ideal solution - and great for cars not in regular use

Small is good!
What appeals to me is the size of the CTEK and the multi functions that it performs. It keeps you up to date as the charging progresses with its stage numbers.
