  • A great revamp of a classic model!

This is the classic Triang Minic Ships model of the tanker SS 'Varicella', very beautifully restored as an example of an Esso tanker. These Triang models were made of durable metal castings, with plastic masts and kept me happy for many hours as a child. They are now doing the same for me as an adult! Educational? Yes, as these models take you back to a time when Britain really did rule the waves (at least to some extent) and when we had a Merchant fleet. The models are fair representations of vessels that were around at the time, now passed into history. The seller kindly provided some additional transfers to go on the Minic oil tanks and I have uploaded a picture to show what a great job has been done on this ship, which is posed alongside the tanker berth at my 'temporary oil terminal'. She has been joined by a BP version of 'Varicella' from the same seller and to the same high quality. I am very happy with this product!

  • First Class job

Really first class job. Should have been in the original 'run' in 1959-1964. Would not hesitate to buy other 'refurbished' parts from this collector
