Oxford Diecast 76GF001 1/76 Scale Volkswagen Golf Mk I GTI in Mars Red OO Gauge Compatible Model
Oxford Diecast manufacture their model 76GF001 in 1/76 Scale which represents a Volkswagen Golf Mk I GTI in Mars Red. This being aimed at the adult / discerning collector or OO Gauge Railway Enthusiast markets is fully OO Gauge compatible if your layout represents anything from the mid-1970s to today. As a Heritage Motor it would not look out of place on a modern image layout especially if one sets up a motor-show diorama or the like or has it free-standing on it's own. You can always blame the TV Series 'Bangers and Cash' for what's inspired your thoughts on displaying a Heritage Motor on your layout like someone has just bought it at auction or similar. The Volkswagen Golf Mk I was the beginning of a popular legacy of cars for this manufacturer: Globally the Golf is one of their biggest success stories. So not surprizing to learn that the early versions such as this are sought after in real life in good condition and for restoration. This is a beautiful rendition of the Mk I GTI for the adult collector despite it's size in 1/76 Scale. Early Golfs have only really been covered by NOREV for the adult / discerning collector market in 1/43 Scale or even by Matchbox with their own offering in c. 1/64 size. This bears all the hallmarks of what makes Oxford the market leaders they are in this field of interest and this model deserves the 10 / 10 FULL MARKS I am awarding it. A real pleasure to own.
