Only had the machine a few weeks and I am already very impressed. So much more versatile and user friendly than my previous hard drive only machine. Build quality is good, picture quality good and the fact that the remote control can be used with my tv is a bonus. I have now condensed what was originally two pieces of equipment into one and have now got one remote instead of three. I would certainly recommend this machine to anyone.

I was very disappointed as it has only one scart connection instead of two which meant I could not record from my Horizon/Virgin box channels other than Irish channels on Saorview (the Irish freeview). You cannot record on to a recorder from Sky anymore. I had to then have to go and buy a second-hand Sony recorder to do that. It is not as user friendly as my old Sony and I have yet to work out how to use it, That it is Blue Ray and it has great storage space is a plus.

After reading many reviews and researching about a good DVD recorder I found that the Panasonic DMR-BWT735EB was the right machine for us. The differences with the next version of this serie as BWT740EB are that the latest offers a 4K upscaling and a couple of things more. You have to have a 4K TV to watch a 4K image so we decided to stay with the 735EB. We're very happy with it and we have no complains so far. I know some people moan about little things like that you can't record from the apps BBC iplayer, etc, but for us isn't a problem.
