I was getting a few codes on my e92 330i (n53) relating to throttle pedal sensor 2 electrical short, MAF plausibility and manifold pressure sensor plausibility.
This manifested as harsh throttle response, difficulty in changing gear smoothly and uneven running when on light load or cruising. Lots of potentially expensive scenarios running through my mind!
Having found that the same pedal module part number was used across many of BMW’s models (although pedals for autos and manuals are different and not interchangeable) I stumped up the pennies for one from a 2006 330d.
Fitting was simple- a single T30 torx screw under a cover and a connector. There are plenty of pictures and forum posts about how to change the the throttle pedal module and reset the adaptions (my car was trying to adapt to bad data from the pedal module).
It was immediately evident that I had a different car to drive! I’ve had no more codes since.
Worth a mention that the n53 engine can be a bit finicky so subtly different sets of codes won’t necessarily mean the same thing for everyone. I’m just chuffed that I didn’t need to spend more than a few quid and could fix the issue myself (this time...)
