  • Great summary & overview of inspiring genre of American art

This short book provides the reader with the essentials of understanding one of the most important genres of American art. This beautifully done book tackles the artistic style that came of be known in the 1800's as The Hudson River School. A brief history, an introduction of the primary artists and copies of the more significant paintings are presented in an inspiring manner. I am particularly a fan of Asher Brown Durand and the author acknowledges the significant contribution of Durand to American art.
