The pump works but quality is not great. The impeller cover on the end fell off the first time used and have had to refix with gasket sealant. Hose could also be a bit longer as need to put Jerry can on a box to fill motorbikes. I suggest you remove air breather pipes from the Jerry cans as does not fit/tight fit depending on brand. I'd rather pay a bit more and get better quality.

It is a cheap product and not particularly robust. The switch is crude to put it mildly as it moves a brass contact so it touches the battery terminal. I didn't buy it to pump from a jerry can so have no idea how that would work, and quite honestly, since you can buy a spout I can't understand why you would. My primary use to is pump out toilet bowls so that I can use an acid limescale remover without dilution to remove the build up due to the water where I live. It does that just fine. For that it will only be used a few times a year.

I purchased this to decant diesel fuel from 25 litre containers into a boat. works a charm. no dangling power leads, dripping long tubes from seperate pumps to trip me into water. not as fasta s a proper fuel pump but a lot easier and convienient to stow. battery life is good, so far decanted about 7 barrels and still going strong on 2 small batteries. takes about 8 mins for one barrel. i used to get fuel every where. not now. i would suggest putting the wife's stockings on the pick up as a filter if worried about dirt. not tried it. The lack of a filter is my only criticism .

The pump is fine and works as described. It's well made and incorporates a cutoff switch which cuts the pump when the liquid being shifted reaches the bottom of the nozzle. A word of caution though. I should have read the description more carefully because I wanted a pump that can lift water about 4ft - to top up my aquarium from a bucket. This is a siphon pump, so it just does enough to prime the liquid to start the siphoning process. It won't lift water more than 6" above the pump head. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the pump, this is what it's designed to do, you need to be sure this is what you want it for that's all.
