Air Intake for Cooker and Fridge Units
I wanted some air intake grills to fit into my kickboards under the two side-by-side tower stacks for the oven, microwave and larder fridge units. The spec for these seemed to fit the bill and sure enough when they arrived they were just as I wanted. I made suitable cut outs in the kickboard I made from faced MDF and inserted these one above the other in two stacks for the two towers to give me the airflow I needed. All four vents were inserted into the 4 slots, each getting a blob of hot glue onto the serrated sidewalls. Pressed into place and look really good. Looks modern and much more of a precision job than wood.
This is a high quality product and it transforms your kitchen by replacing the MDF plinth with this anodized aluminium. Easy to fit one you get an Evolution saw blade to make the cuts, in fact I bought a complete Evolution chop saw specifically for this job. No instructions came with it, but the corner and jointing angles clip on securely and make for a very neat job. The clips that secure it to the kitchen unit legs took a bit of brainwork though, not sure if I did this right or not, but what works is to fit the clips to the legs, and fit the other half to the extruded groove in the back of the plinth. Try to get these as accurately fitted as possible, then offer up the plinth and a firm tap with your hand, and they click into place easily. A vast improvement on wooden MDF plinths.
