I purchased the TP-Link AV1200 PLA set to replace an existing TP-Link AV200 set that I've been using for around 3 years. I live in a 2 floor house and the Sky provided SR102 wifi router is downstairs. Wifi signal is very poor and being in an area with surrounding flats the 2.4ghz wifi channel was very congested. I needed a wired connection to my PC which was on the first floor. Solution was to go for a PLA. At the time my internet connection was only 17mb and I managed to get the full 17mb through the AV200 set. A year later I upgraded to Sky fibre with a 40mb connection. The AV200 set still managed to give me the full 40mb connection with no signal loss. This year I upgraded to Sky 80mb fibre and found the AV200 couldn't achieve more than 50-55mb. Replacing them with the AV1200 set I got the full 76mb coming into the router. The the built in 3 port gigabit switch allowed me to connect a dedicated wifi AC access point and bypass the poor wifi from the Sky router. With 8 people in the house with a mix of phones laptops and tablets the PLAs have so far handled traffic really well. No restarts or paring required. I do have to mention they are much much larger than the AV200 set they replaced.Read full review

WEEEEE!! - after trying MANY other 8th & 9th generation units (none of which worked reliably for more than a few minutes!), Finally, THIS one seems to have worked pretty well for the last few days (and still is) . Thus some "tips" for anyone else aiming to extend their existing PLC system: 1) select a unit from the SAME "generation" (thus "8th", "9th2, or "whichever"!). 2) then select a unit of EXACTLY the same type/model number - Otherwise, be prepared for "a lot of problems", and "many" "return to sender, not working" "experiences" :( Edited a month later: I think that the reason that many have found these units to "stop working after a few minutes" is because they default to "Powersave" mode after around 10 minutes - thus download and install TP-Link's tpPLC.exe utility on your LAN-connected PC, run that, and then, on EVERY 8030p unit, dig into the Settings and switch Powersave OFF! That worked for me - and I think the same approach should also work for other models of TP-Link PLC units! Read full review

Needed more than one network port. New smart TV and sky. This is perfect. Pass through socket helps also. Have found TP-Link easy to set up and reliable

These Powerlines are the first I have bought. They are well made, but it's early days, but they do seem to perform well, with a better clearer and crisper tv picture with less buffering, which was previously very frustrating. We have incurred external power cuts in which the Powerlines had to be rebooted... which was easy. So far, they live up to the excellent reviews, they are easy to set up and live with. 5 Stars!

Been having trouble with my Wi-Fi connections to a desktop computer and a PS4. This home plug kit sorted all that out immediately. Very easy to set up, just plug into the nearest wall sockets, connect the cables, pair the two plugs and away you go. Problems solved.
