This sure bring back memories...
I used to have this model back when I was in highschool; and it faithfully served me all the way till I graduated from university with a degree in Engineering. I've moved a lot since then due to my work. And I lost my old calculator. 15 years later - I saw a brand new FX5000 for sale on eBay; and I just couldn't resist. More than adequate for my needs (IO believe it is actually smarter than I am) - clean and simple design with an old school look thanks to the metal faceplate that is WAY better than the all plastic modern counterparts. I purchased one of these more than 25 years ago and it served me faithfully these many years. It finally gave up the ghost and I searched for months for a replacement. I was prepared to purchased a used one but was delighted to find a new one available. There was no learning curve as I was very familiar with the device.
