Spendy but elegant, compact, versatile and a delight to use
So far I like this little toaster/oven very much. It fits in a very small footprint compared to most N American toaster ovens. The design is clever and clean (elegant Japanese technology): the shelves slide forward smoothly when the door is opened. You can watch your toast (or other food) through the large glass door. The timer is a simple mechanical clockwork device with a knob. No buttons or LCD displays. It doesn't radiate much heat even when running all-out.
I installed a 120/100vac stepdown transformer to run this appliance safely on N American house wiring. I am not having any issues with burnt toast. My only quibble is that the interior looks like it could be hard to clean if -- for example -- toasted cheese dripped off the bread, or anything spilled or spattered. There is a crumb tray at bottom, but actual scrubbing/degreasing looks like it could be quite difficult.
I have only used it for toast so far, but hope to try cooking mini chicken pies and other toaster-oven goodies in future. It toasts much better than my conventional pop-up toaster which always burns one edge of the bread. This is an awfully expensive toaster, considering how little one can pay for a pop-up cheapie. But it feels like a quality product and is a pleasure to use; and I like the versatility of toaster and toaster-oven in one appliance.
I was missing having a toaster oven something fierce, but small counters made getting one an impossible dream. Then Muji oven came into my life! I'm eating toast as I post this and it feels GOOD!
The product arrived promptly and in good shape.
