    For £94 it's pretty good

The quality is good enough. I have only used PLA so far which works pretty well and there are no missed steps or hardware related issues that I can see. Problems: There is no watchdog timer enabled on this firmware - this is a massive fire risk I managed to crash the stock firmware by starting about 6 prints of the same calibration piece one after the other. The extruder got stuck on and reach about 400 degrees before I realised and switched it off. I would recommend powering off and back on before starting each print to help mitigate this. So far it hasn't crashed during a print although I haven't run for more than a few hours at a time. The firmware isn't great but I am using it without that many issues. The menu system on the display is a bit annoying to navigate around and the buttons seem to do inconsistent things. For example pressing the middle one might select the item or go back to the previous screen seemingly randomly not sure what the cause of that is but you can still do everything after a few attempts. The small wire from one of the micro switches broke internally somewhere so had to re-crimp the connector on a new wire. The instructions are pretty terrible - not many pictures and basically unreadable english. Overall definitely worth it for under £100 but I wouldn't leave it unattended in case it caught fire.

    Prepare for some googling

Firstly, there IS hope. I've managed to build this printer and print a few basic items. Secondly, the bits in the kit seem reasonably quality. Though you will be sanding down or hacking away at some of the parts to make them fit together. The issue with this printer is the instructions and support. There are 2 instructional PDFs provided. One for the electronics one for the assembly. The electronics instructions fail to cover... end stops, extruded fans, wiring the heated bed or attaching the display. Fortunately with some basic electronics knowhow and a multimeter you'll manage this. The assembly covers about 80% of the build. The rest are instructions taken from a different prusa i3 build with different parts. The best advice will be to expect to get most of the way with this kit. Then rely heavily on the open source community and the help available there. But I definitely think this item is "parts" and not a "kit" or "assembly required" at all.

  • Building and using the Sintron 3D Printer Prusa i3

I've had the printer for about a month now and the more I use it the more I find to do with it. The build was not without hitches and I consider myself a practical person so it could prove challenging for anyone new to practical projects. However if you are thinking about 3D printing you either are or want to be practical, so if the latter see the build process as the first part of your education :) The important thing to remember is, if you are having a problem, then someone else will have too, so just search online and all will become clear, or at least a bit less obscure. I have been using it now for a couple of weeks and have been printing stuff for home (bird feeders and suchlike) and also work. Some things would have been a problem to make in conventional ways like D shaft adaptors, but with this it's just draw it up, slice it, print it and there's your prototype. Oh yes, and it's great fun! ENJOY!

  • Not for beginners (novices like me)

Unless you know anything about printers and electronics this printer is not for the feint hearted. It's a nice design but too many bare cables needs some attention. LCD screen does not work and seller not interested in replacing parts or helping. I gave up in the end when I couldn't fathom how to install the software and the seller was unwilling to cooperate. So decided to sell and buy a more basic printer which was very easy to build and wire up and is now printing. This printer as I said is not for beginners but personally I think it just needs a bit more care and attention and it should print. But don't think about contacting sintron as they have no clue about their own product or on how the software works, there are no troubleshooting guide. They do however send you links to the build instruction and software they just don't tell you how to install it. I never got round to powering up this thing and gave up.

  • Very nice 3D Printer for its price

I would recommend buying this printer. It comes very well packaged, so the parts will not suffer any damage during transportation. Once you figured out how to assembly it, you can do it in 3-4 hours if you're initiated in DIY projects. All the parts and tools for assembly were there. For printer calibration you would need a little bit more time, but after a few attempts I managed to calibrate it in a couple of hours. The only drawback would be the instructions for assembly, which were not for the printer model I've ordered. I would recommend searching a tutorial on YouTube for this printer model and you will manage to assembly it correctly. Overall, I'm happy with it. Let the fun begin :)

  • Garbage

I've had to replace every thing except the motors the thin ply board frame warps The threaded lead screw are not stright and the steel rods are not straight the linear ball bearing the balls fall out The powersupply was Tripping the main house electrics and destroyed the 3d printer main board in the process so i had to replace both power and controller board Don't waste your money i paid £95 for 5 stepper motors

  • Good product

The reviews of this printer made me decide to buy on. Assembly was straight forward. The wire of the electronics are a bit long which you have to tie up. The firmware has been tailored to this printer so no calibrating needed. My first print was a bit of getting the feeling of this printer. The second one a 3D stress test that this printer passed with flying colors.

  • Works

It's cheap. Some parts, like the flexible couplings, are really cheap. But assembly is simple, software is easy to set up and it comes with everything you need to start printing.
