    Performed as required

As a diy mechanic and through financial necessity I try to do my car repairs myself whenever possible. This spring compressor was an essential tool in order to tackle the job ahead of me. It was easy to use, performed perfectly and the option of spanner or socket wrench drive added to its utility. Would recommend this item if you feel confident in your abilities.

Unfortunately these spring compressors do not fit all cars, due to the design. I tried using these on rear springs on a 2006 Honda CRV. because there are 2 hooks, they will only fit the larger radius springs, which are normally at the front. If your springs outer diameter is (approx.) 95mm or less, then these and most other makes of this type wont fit.

  • Great coil spring compressors

They work well on bmw e46 front coil springs. I span the clamps from the outer spring seat to around 3 or 4 coils. That way you don't have to compress the spring so much as you have mpre of the spring between the jaws of the clamp. Safety: Expect it to explode and shoot shrapnel into your face and body so wear gloves, shield, overalls and seat the base of the strut against something heavy so if it does go it'll shoot away from you. Old strut in picture, i replaced with nice new ones. Springs are the original bmw from factory after 130k miles and 16 years.

  • Heavy duty quality compressors

Fantastic product. Used to compress my e91 springs. I did end up buying a second set to be able to do the job but these were a far better and safer set. If I wasn't in a rush for the second I would of re ordered these. Great quality. Added safety pin makes all the difference

  • Quality at a great price.

Good solid spring compressors with pins for added safety. Worked really well and gave more reassurance than the old ones that I had been using. Not that the old ones ever failed but the solidity of these gave more confidence.

  • Nicely boxed kit

Spring compressors are a tool with a question mark about safety. These compressors can with care compress strut springs but not heavy duty types.. That is my experience. The risk of trying to make them do a task they are not designed to do is dangerous, as they can slip off the spring coils when trying to tighten more than they is safe. The kit these compressor springs are supplied in is good but you get what you pay for.

  • Good quality

Been meaning to buy a pair of clamps for some time and now have finally done. Have used these already and they do the job superbly. I didn't want to buy some cheap ones and opted for these. Gave me a lot of confidence in using them, very strongly made. Excellent choice 👍🏼

  • Good tool at this price point.

Cant argue at this price point. Used them a few times now and they get the job done. Are there better compressors, well yes, but you'll pay a lot more. From a DIY'er I found them easy to use.

  • looks a well made tool

This looks a well-made piece of kit, however I didn’t get to use it as it’s intended for the larger diameter springs mainly found on the front of cars. So if you’re changing the rear shocks on a Peugeot 407 this is NOT the spring compressor you’re looking for…
