split with ease
I thought the x11 was brilliant but this takes the Fiskars range of splitters to another level ----it is a superb tool --and there are still x21 andx25-7 on top of this---it really is the ultimate range of splitting tools--you do not have to spend a fortune on axes that I personally would worry about using ; owing to the cost of them. One Of The Best Tools I’ve Ever Bought!!!
So I’ve fallen in love with this axe after using it on a 3 day camping trip! It’s a great weight for camping as the handle is completely hollow, yet it never vibrates or feels weak - it’s very robust (multiple purchasers testify to that after many years). It arrived razor share, so it bites into the wood very easily. And because it’s a splitting axe the angle and the shape causes it to glide through the wood. It’s build quality it epic. It’s never going to fall apart, no matter how many miss-hits you swing. And the sheath/carry case (genius idea) is great for protecting the edge & yourself. If there were any negatives, it may have been better just a few inches longer. But having said that, if it was it probably wouldn’t be ideal for camping chores. If you only want to chop fire wood, then try the X25 (longer and heavier). If you want an a-rounder for camping/bushcraft, this one’s (X17) is PERFECT!!!
