Cheap and cheerful value-for-money Windows tablet
OK, it's not the fastest tablet in the world, and it's limited by its 1 GB of RAM, but you should be able to use it for most purposes. For example, the Edge browser is fast and compact and works well with the web as long as you don't have a large number of tabs open at any one time. The tablet is great for email, reading books and magazines, drawing (with a suitable stylus), listening to music (though the storage is limited once you've installed a lot of apps), checking the weather and the news, setting alarms, watching videos, and so on. I found that there's even enough storage for a map of England to use for navigation. Because it runs a full version of Windows 10, you can use it at home to access the files on your PC just by logging it into your home WiFi. And with Windows Remote Desktop Connection, you can access your home PC from wherever you are. ARRIVED IN "AS NEW" CONDITION
There was absolutely no sign of damage or even use on the tablet: it even had the original manufacturer's stickers on it. Came with new charger and lead but no manual (the latter is available on the Acer app installed on the tablet). I find the tablet easier to use if it is NOT in the tablet mode. Really not bad
OK, this is a cheap tablet. It's somewhat leisurely in operation, has no GPS, only a single micro USB connector and the audio-visuals are weak. But it works properly! I'm using mine for Kindle and watching films. It's running Office Mobile nicely. It's fine. I've tried a few low-budget Windows tablets, some were faster with more bells & whistles - but the Iconia's more robust. I've successfully updated it, after some faffing about with disk cleaning. Acer publishes driver updates, which means Windows will find them for you - you can download them yourself if you think Microsoft missed one. You can use an SD card for storage. Do this through Settings (cog wheel - System - Storage), or change your folder locations (long press on folder, select Properties then Location). To save even more space, set the tablet to back up your files on a Windows computer (add network location).Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

I ordered the acer arconia as a replacement for my linx 8 which recently died it is better looking than my linx and the battery life and screen seem equally good my only criticism is not with the equipment but with the software but that's just a personal choice I did prefer the windows 8 to 10 but I am still in love with the old windows xp which I thought was one of the easiest and well formatted os they ever did so overall this is a veery good piece of kitVerified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

GOOD VALUE TABLET
Well made and easy to use. Comes with Windows 10 (love it or hate it!). Clear display with excellent touch-screen characteristics. Good quality CE mains power supply. At first the screen re-orientation did not work but this is a Windows 10 problem which they seem to have now resolved (Windows 10 can switch orientation off on older versions). Carrying out a free Windows 10 update sorted this out: I guess the Acer tablet had been supplied with an older version of Windows. Be prepared for lengthy Windows updates: leave it running and go down the pub or whatever. The built-in memory is a little limited after the operating system and a few apps are installed (so go for the 32gb option). Stacks of space left if you install a 64gb micro SD card for all your data and photos etc: good quality cards are fairly cheap on Ebay. It is a shame that the tablet does not come with a flip case / stand, but again these are available on Ebay for reasonable cost. Great tablet - Acer W1-810
Wanted to try a Windows 10 tablet to see how it compared with android devices. This seemed like excellent value so purchase one. Contrary to some comments I found the W1-810 to be reasonably quick. The screen is brilliant (IPS) and the device is very usable. It is worth having a stylus for some actions. I fitted a 32GB micro SD card (about £9) giving a total available storage of about 48GB. Don't forget to instruct the OS to put your videos, pictures & documents on the card! OK the Windows 10 anniversary update took AGES to install and download - but it takes quite a time on a PC. A bargain at the price
Works well, battery life good , better performance than expected. I bought this because it is on offer at a very good price and wanted it for one application to control and SDR (software defined radio) but find it is easily quick enough to use as a general computer.
