Excellent, quiet and very effective filter.
I've never been sure about getting an external filter for our aquarium but the fortnightly clean of the internal filters was hard work and expensive with the regular requirement for replacement filters. After reviewing many options we chose this one for it's capacity and reputation for being quiet, the additional UV filter was also a factor. It took a couple of hours to remove the old filters and set this up properly but once done it rapidly showed it's worth. It is genuinely quiet, much quieter than the additional air pump we have for bubble bars. Within a day the tank was cleaner than I'd ever seen it and we have more tank space due to the removal of the old large internal filter. It was easy to prime the pump for first start, the pump/filter housing seems very robust and all the joints and seals look very good. It is large, not fitting into the cupboard of our Juwell 180 tank cabinet but sat on the carpet next to the tank its not an issue.

It works but is not perfect.
As It comes they is not enough filter meadem. so buget another £30 to £40. When you close the tap on the pipes don't take the pipes off the lid before you unclip the top and lift the top. Or the water comes up from the filter and runs in to the workings in the lid and blose the bulb. they cost £8 or £9 to replace. I was that man. Split the lid before pulling the pipes off and it works fine.

Efficient filter at a great price.
This filter is really easy to set up, the spraybar and intake extensions are nice and sturdy, and it runs quietly. It does, however, need a lot more pumping to prime it than the instructions suggest. Considering it also has a UV steriliser, and came with all the required filter media, the price was fantastic.
