  • Really Useful Item

A very sharp and effective tool for removal of tough phormium and yucca leaves and similar vegetation. It's light weight means that it can be used for several hours without straining your arm. Though you must exercise care when using this and there are videos on YouTube that demonstrate the correct technique. I also recommend wearing rigger gloves and eye protection. I have only been using this for a few days but it has saved me hours of hard labour.

I wasn't sure about this, but I took a chance. I'm pleasantly surprised. The tool is very light in the hand. I was expecting something that felt more like an english sickle, with a bit of heft to it. When I tried it out, it was really effective. The serrated edge means it works more on the pull than on the swing. You can cut thin stuff with a swish, but it works best if you grab a handful of whatver you're cutting hook it and pull the blade back. Great for low hanging branches.

  • Great gardening tool

I bought this as I am currently working in a garden that has a good number of large phormiums that need maintenance. These are just the job, the easily slice through the thick leaves and dead leaves and leave a nice clean cut. Excellent.

I have struggled to trim my New Zealand Flax neatly for some time now. Saw a gardener recommend a curved serrated knife on a YouTube video. Saw this on eBay and I must say it is fantastic. It goes through the base of the leaves with ease. I would definitely recommend getting one of these...

Cracking sickle. Excellent edge. Works a treat. Highly recommended. You do need to clean and dry and I imagine, oil occasionally.

  • Brilliant product

cuts through tough New Zealand Flax leaves like butter, no more struggling with pruning shears. You can also grab a handful and cut them low down in one go :)
