Triumph gearchange
To achieve I good gearchange on unit 650 triumphs the two gearbox plunger springs need to be in balance. This ensures that the gearchange lever returns to exact mid point and the pawls are ready to pick the next quadrant tooth up. If one spring is stronger than the other you get an offset and bad selection on the quadrant. These springs are just the perfect strength and tension to achieve smooth changes. Obviously to get perfect balance you need to always replace both at the same time.
