Great value for money, but it required proper setup. What would you expect for this much?! If you add the setup cost - you'd get the normal store price. I had some problems with the resonator back - one of the wooden blocks with the screw snapped off, probably during the transportation - glued it back. The action was very low and got a lot of fret buzzing. Unplayable in high positions. Dull sound. Setup! Adjusted the truss rod and head tension - totally different instrument! So loud! Would be good to include the basic bano setup guide - how to adjust the neck and head - target string heights, how to position and fine tune the bridge.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not for beginners.
The item was bought as a Christmas present. It is not a banjo for a beginner as it has to be set up. Some of the strings were incorrectly wound and the bridge is not maple and ebony as advertised but wood with no ebony and requires fitting. I was able to set the item for a relative as I have played guitar for a number of years. I downloaded information that I was not sure of from the internet.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
