VOSTOK AMPHIBIA 090659. Model: 090659. Series: Amphibia. For extended longevity and peak performance of your Vostok watch, kindly refer to these instructions. The crown in Vostok watches is intentionally designed to bewobbly.
The lugs are 22mm, just buy a bracelet before you get it, but what a great watch!
Ok I am going to start off with the cons, mainly because there are very few.
The bracelet. Look, unless you like sounding like it's Christmas all the time and don't like your wrist to have any hair on it, the first thing you are going to do is take it off and throw it far far away. It looks sort of ok.. as long as you are like ten feet away from it.. maybe in a loud room. I hear they break easily I wouldn't know mine was off within 5 minutes it was that bad.
The only other con if you can call it that is the crystal is plex/plastic, so you can scratch it. Get som polywatch in case you do.
The pros, and man are there many.
It's super freaking nice, it has an incredible retro look. Well in a way it IS retro it's the same 1963 design as far as I know aside from the face.
It runs well. Actually the sweep is a lot smoother than I thought it would be. It keeps very good time as well.
You can hand wind it if you want to, but it's an automatic. I wound mine once and since then it's lived on my wrist or on a winder. I'm not sure of the power reserve but I left it out for a day almost and it was still going.
It looks great on a variety of straps. NATOs, awesome. Rubber, awesome. I have mine of a shark mesh, really awesome.
It's freaking inexpensive AF. I mean how for like 50 bucks you get a watch like this... outstanding value.
It's a REAL dive watch. The design of the back is a gasket under a non rotating back which responds to pressure by getting more watertight. Same with the crown, which is screw down. The plex/plastic crystal is shaped in a way that it presses itself into the case more as pressure increases and this prevents any leaks. I believe it's rated to 300 meters.
If you do replace straps, get some spring bars as well. The ones that come with the bracelet are really a large diameter and are impossible to use with aftermarket bracelets etc.
BE PATIENT with the shipping. The Russian postal system is ridiculous. You are not going to get the watch for a couple of months. You might not even get tracking for a couple months. Once you do get tracking it means it finally made it to Moscow, and from there you will have it in a week or two. If you want one faster buy from a US seller that has them in country. I've bought Vostoks from two different sellers in Russia and both delivered and in well packed packages.
In summary, it's a super inexpensive very cool looking and high quality automatic mechanical watch that you really should buy.
Great conversation pieces don't always have to cost a fortune IMO.
Beautiful seventies style automatic divers watch for a sharp price!! All in house made which adds value for me. Changed to a N.D. limits brown rubber/silecon divers strap. With depths printed in yellow and white for more comfort and better looks.
