Happy fish.
I recently rekindled my interest in tropical fish, but wanted to keep Corydoras, knowing that sand would be better for them, I decided on some white silica sand, it took very little cleaning, was placed in the tank with some decorative features, filled with water and off I went. I did a fishless cycle, added my fish last week after a water test and now I have some pretty little Peppered Cory's scuttling arround the tank, all in a happy condition. Brilliant white silica sand
Excellent quality sand, literally does not need to be rinsed before putting into the aquarium. I've just downsized to a corner tank and it looks brill when the blue lights are on! Good value, plenty of sand being the 25kg bag. It took about 18kg for a good deep 3-4 inch bed on a juwel 190L corner tank to give you an idea of coverage. Two minor critiques.. the sand is very smelly, that may sound weird but you'll get what I mean. It gets your throat. The second is that it may actually be to good a quality sand if that's such a thing, the grains are very very small, to the extent that my two air stone logs are at the bottom of the tank with the 3inch bed above, when the air pump is blowing it creates a full on sand storm cloud, adjusting your flow rate will sort this out as I have done. Does look pretty cool in places like rocks and caves with sand flowing off it. Or obviously just put your air stones on top of the sand not under it. Be prepared with your gravel cleaner as you'll want it to be pristine all of the time. Never wrote a review before but this product is brilliant. For sure would recommend.

Probably *the* finest sand I have ever come across
This is an insanely fine sand which arrived well bagged up and just about as clean as it can be. I expected to have to spend a month of Sundays scrubbing dust out of it, but in fact it is just about ready to go out of the bag, and running the tank water through carbon in the filter system removes all trace of dye inside an hour. It would be perfect for people who want to play about making sandfalls inside their aquariums since it is so fine and will pass easily through the impeller of any decent pump. And beyond aquariums I would imagine it would be useful in things like egg-timers since, when dry, it flows almost as easily as a liquid. Don't expect fancy packaging. Who needs that anyway? But do expect a material which is ideal for sand-diving species and cats with sensitive barbels. Wonderful stuff :o)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This white sand is absolutely amazing , since swapping from gravel to this sand my water is absolutely crystal clear and my cichlids love it . Better than any other sand I’ve tried before . Free flowing
Really what can one say about sand? Ok it is startlingly white. Flows freely & easily. I used this sand as a second layer over the planting substrate in a new aquarium setup. As I added the water, slowly and via a 6mm diameter pipe and through a foam pad I found that there was virtually no dust or 'scum' that I have found with some other products in the past (beware the coloured rubbish from a certain high street 'Pets @' retailer) Good product. Super crisp and clear brilliant white silica sand for my aquarium. I rinsed this with a garden hose and bucket but honestly it wasn’t needed. Makes the aquarium super light and is a great quality; however be prepared to vacuum the substrate a lot more often due to everything showing up on the surface. Top stuff.
Based on previous reviews I ordered for my 180ltr tank. Didn’t even rinse it and no need to either. Very fine and soft and goes a long way. Got loads left over from a25 kg bag. Have ordered more to change another big tank ive got. Easy to keep clean from messy fancy goldfish if you direct the spray bar towards the outlet pipe. Crystal clear water now. Highly recommend.
