  • Vanson 57 alnico 2 pick ups

Purchased for a Lp style guitar.Very good quality. They have the tone i have been looking for .Some pickups sound really bright and harsh but these are nice and warm The zebra colour really suits my black Ibanez Art120 and is a big improvement over the stock humbuckers. The cream pickups look like ivory and the pickups look and feel high quality .Wiring was easy as a wiring diagram was included .They also show instructions for coil tapping as they have 4 wires .2 of the wires come soldered together for normal set up . I will definitely be buying more for my other guitars .I would urge anybody to go ahead and give them a go ..you wont be disappointed

  • Very good setof PAFs for a ridiculous price

I used these on an old Epiphone SG that was in need of some serious upgrades. Was looking for a Goldtop 57 sound and was not disappointed (athough it is almost impossible to get that sound with an SG) as the Pickups are very clear and have a very good response, especially the neck pickup. Respond very well to 500k pots and are well balanced. For sure will purchase another set for a hollow body Les Paul that I'm building this summer. I've also purchased 2 sets of vintage Single coils from Vanson that are superb.

  • Exceptionaly good sound, great build quality and amazing price

I bought these on a whim to try just for a bit of fun as I like to semi customise a couple of guitars I have, Tokai V, bits o caster start... I put them in the V replacing a couple Seymour Duncan pups I had purchased from a friend. I didn't expect too much because of the price and I was just playing around as the V is so easy and fast to change things around. As soon as new strings were on and tuned I plugged in to a Line 6 Pod , sounded good, but plug anything into a Pod and you can get a Processed sound that you think sounds good! So I plugged into my Kemper. Blown away, these pups are seriously good, I then plugged into a Laney LC 50 combo, UNBELIEVABLE, I couldn't understand how such a cheap set of pickups could sound so good. I decided to try them against a PRS 22 Standard and a Gibson SG using all the same equipment, easily stands at the side of them, a definite improvement on the PRS and I would say better than the SG. I really am impressed with these pickups, they are quiet, no extraneous background noise, easy to fit and so well priced. Pickups from other manufacturers must be well hiked on the profit margin, these prove that beyond doubt to me. The only downside for me is the Ivory bobbin on the zebra pickup looks like cheap plastic. But you wont see that unless you look really close.

  • Very respectable sounding pickups

I bought a pair of these to upgrade from the stock ceramic pickups on a far Eastern built guitar, and they do what I wanted them to do. One of the things which appealed to me is that they don't have an overwound bridge pickup, as many affordable sets do. With their alnico II magnets and relatively conservative output level, they have a good balanced classic humbucker sound which works well clean as well as overdriven. They are tidily built and the only thing which distinguishes them visually from more expensive pickups is the brass baseplate, where most of the premium pickups use nickel silver. However, I suspect that any difference this makes to the performance is minimal. I would be quite happy to use these in my main gigging instrument.

  • Great quality at a low price

This is the third set of these pickups i have purchased. The first set went into an Epiphone LP Studio as the stock pups were ok for high gain and not much else, these transformed the guitar. 2nd set i put into a Westfield SG project as i wanted the Zebra look more than anything and i knew it would sound great, and it did. I sold the guitar to a guy who had previously bought an SG from me, and he loved the sound of the guitar so much that he asked me to put the same pickups in the first SG, so i did, and he was delighted with the result. I have only installed them with the 2-wire configuration, so cannot comment on on their coil-spit quality. Pro's - Good clean sound Good clarity and note definition Excellent paf sound when overdriven, especially the bridge pickup Great price. Con's - none really, maybe the hook-up wires could be a bit heavier gauge. All in all, a great upgrade for any budget guitar.

  • Vintage

This is the second set I’ve purchased. This time I replaced PRS 8515 pickups. I now have a nice Jazzy Bluesy vintage tone. They are great value for money over high end brands. Good quality for the money.

  • Good sound at a reasonable pric

I used these to replace stock pick ups in a Harley Benton CST24 deluxe as part of a project. I was not disappointed. They were a big improvement and got me a long way towards the sound I was looking for at a reasonable price. It was also a good way to get over my anxiety over swapping pickups in a guitar and soldering. I think for guitars at this price point Vanson are a good option. Vanson could do with their own website to promote these products.

  • Great pickups!

Great sounding pickups for an unbelievable price! Bridge is higher output, with a bite that really cuts through. Neck pickup is smooth and warm and just what you'd expect a neck pickup to be. Clean up really well when rolling back the volume allowing you to crank the amp and control the gain using the guitar knob. I own a gretech with custom made TV Jones pickups and an EVH USA Wolfgang and these Vanson ones, for the money, stack up just fine!

  • Awesome sound at a low price

Absolutely Awesome! Completely transformed the sound of my Coban kit guitar (PRS style semi). It came with overly hot humbuckers which sounded pretty awful. Now sounds perfect - they have completed the guitar. I'm still struggling to believe that pup's of this quality can be bought for this price.

  • Nice budget upgrade

Bought these to replace the stock pickups in my 2001 Epiphone Les Paul standard which I'd always hated for being so muddy. These have added a good boost in clarity and are much closer to vintage Les Paul tones. Fantastic value for money!
