Gets better as you listen
The first half of the cd is not great but after that it gets a lot better. Owning all Keith's cds, his style changes slightly heading towards fuse, which I was unsure of at first but now love. Ripcord is more like fuse than any other of his albums but a lot less country and much more pop. Its OK, I'm sure I'll like it as I listen more but it's not an album I'd listen to a great deal. But 2nd half definitely worth a listen so worth having in the collection, I'm just hoping this was a more experimental phase cd and Keith goes back to his country rock style, which suits his voice better.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Pop / rock with a little country
I'm new to Keith Urban. Came across him as a genuine guy on American Idol who seems to love his music and knows about it. Although he has a country image I checked out a few tracks on youtube and found him to be a more Pop / Rock slant on many tracks. Bought this, rather than his latest, due to other reviews and a liking for a couple of the tracks on here (Blue aint your colour / break on me) and found it to be really good. I like music that has good lyrics rather than just a melody and, from what I can see (and hear) most lyrics are great on all his songs. Bought his greatest hits album to capture some of his earlier songs too, which is also a good buy. Recommend the record and the artist. A credible guy in control of his craft, as opposed to some of the 'puppets' of the industry these days. Definitely worth buyingVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
