The best smart thermostat on the market
To my mind this is the best option for smart heating on the market. Nest are continuing to introduce new products in the range and I think they look a lot better than Hive or other similar products. It does have a number of features that we use every day and there’s plenty that we don’t use but I know my customers do. I have also fitted the Nest smoke and carbon monoxide alarm and will be fitting their cameras and door bell soon. This thermostat really does stand out above the rest. I've previously been using Hive for two years and when moving fancied a change and definitely not regretting it! Solidly build and love the far sight feature. Nest learning thermostat
After much deliberation on which smart thermostat to choose I decided to purchase the Nest Product. I found it very easy to install as per the easy to follow instructions that came with the product. The stat works perfectly and can be fixed or used remotely using the USB cable supplied. Excellent product and loooks great. A bit tricky installing it; I ended up paying an electrician who is also a registered Nest installer. Also had trouble linking it to my Wi-fi. However, this was because, initially, the Nest's internal battery was low. It needed to be left alone to charge up and then the Wi-fi link worked very easily. This initial intense battery charge made some warmth within the Nest which caused it to read a higher than expected temperature (approx 4 degrees). Again, it needed to be left alone to charge up and cool down. Now the Nest has been installed for a couple of days, it's working very well. Great product
I’ve been really pleased with the Nest. Firstly the unboxing experience is impressive and has clearly been thought about. In those first few moments it oozes quality. I did a self install but it was quite challenging, I’d suggest for most people a “Nest Pro” would be needed. I did need to contact Nest support and they were very helpful. So far it seems to be working well, the heating comes on and off when it’s supposed to and it already seems to be learning how long the house takes to warm up. I have it attached to an OpenTherm boiler which means the Nest can control the temperature of the water on the central heating. Quite often it just warms the radiators a little when the house just needs warming a little. I hoping this will reduce gas bills but it’s too early to tell. Both the wall thermostat and app are easy to use. All in all I’ve been pretty impressed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
