I used this bitumen paint on some wooden window boxes which I will add to the front of my house. The paint will protect the wooden inner surfaces from damp and rot. I will also use it to protect the soil side of wooden raised beds I have built in my garden. You'll need turpentine or white spirit to clean your brush and maybe your hands, but the paint is not stinky like creosote and it's far cheaper than woodstain. It dries to a glossy black which fades to matt black after a few weeks of weather.
