A Good Product but Great Value
This canvas tool case looks very smart in its black/red livery. At 500mm wide (loaded including end pockets) this is as large as you would want a canvas tool case to be. In fact the danger is that you could overload it weight-wise. A central section zips open to reveal a large area for bulky items flanked by a padded laptop pocket - padded for protection. On the other side a single inner pocket. Either side of this are two full-length, full-height fold-out flaps. Each one has tool fastenings on the flap and the inner wall. One flap has ten tool loops in two rows (one above the other) and the other side nine. One inner wall has four pockets and the other seven both sat beneath four horizontal loops. The pockets are quite sizeable thanks to the overall length of the bag. If I have one criticism it is that the loop elastic runs in one strip but is single-stitched. The loops are in two sizes with the smaller ones being suitable, if a tiny bit tight, for my screwdrivers and the larger ones being ideal for pliers. At the end of the bag are two velcro-fastened pockets suitable for network testers, multimeters and the like. A strap fastens at the end of the bag which has a padded section for your shoulder. Two half-handles popper together to create a carrying handle. It is a bit of a pain having to clear the shoulder strap and open the handle to get access to the case but this is a trivial complaint really. Construction is from the sort of heavy canvas material with a thick weave that you expect on bicycle panniers and ruck sacks. It looks smart and feels strong. I worry about the stitching of the elastic parts because I know that they will get punished but everything else seems reassuringly tough. Being just 200mm wide makes it look smaller than it really is and I would keep in mind that this thing is half a metre long. One benefit of course is that you can carry quite a large laptop in the special padded section. I bought one of these for £20 as a present.
