  • Valor Fitness BD-61 Functional Trainer

Excellent value. Machine is sturdy and has two variable cable positions on the sides for functional training and upper and lower cable positions for lateral pull down and row exercises. It also comes with two handles and lat bar and row bar. The three boxes are rather heavy, so a hand truck or another person is needed if the boxes need to be repositioned for assembly. Instructions are basic and I recommend to read them and look at the diagrams several times before trying to start the assembly process. There are a lot of steps missing in the instructions and none of the pieces are labeled. It does not take a lot of effort to figure out how to put together the machine once you understand the diagrams and identify the parts. It takes about 3 hours to assembly the frame, and another three hours to assembly the three cables, since there are about 15 pulleys to assembly. It is important to have two wrenches or a socket rachet set as tools for assembly. The machine can take both standard and olympic plates. Once assembled, the movement is surprisingly smooth for such an inexpensive product. Although is not commercial grade, for a home gym is a perfect addition. The footprint is really compact (a plus), but the highest position on the side cables is low for tall individuals ( a minus). The machine is very versatile and allows plenty of exercises. Overall, it is a plus to purchase this machine.

  • Great for home gym

This machine is excellent for a home gym. FedEx delivered this in three boxes and heavily damaged all three causing most of the bars to be damaged. Normally deliver companies employees don't appreciate heavy boxes. Valor fitness is awesome and stood behind their product without any questions. Assembly can be done by anyone, if you can assemble stuff from Ikea you can assemble this. I do wish the instructions had better detailed pictures but it's was completed in 2ish hours. Some negative of this are the assesories that come with it stink (lat bar, row/curl bar, and cable pull handles). They are cheap but the machine is still worth it. I looked all over and what this does for the price can't be touched. This also comes with Olympic sleeves if you have the larger sized plates which is nice but the set screws cannot be tightened enough, when removing the plates the sleeves can come off too. It's easy to talk about the negatives but I want to emphasize the overall positive picture. This does everything I need and want it too. You can put a max of 250 pounds on it and it is 1:1 ratio. I would bu this again all day long.

  • Not worth it.

Super wobbly. Any exercises that require you to pull away from the machine IT WILL WOBBLE. The tension in the cables make 50 pounds feel like 75. Maybe weighing the back of it with sandbags or something MIGHT help. Maybe its the cheap pulleys they provide that causes the movement to be so hard and tense? I've loosened the nuts and bolts and its still hard. I recommend saving your money for a better quality piece of equipment. It wasn't worth the money I spent. Not happy with this machine. I have a marcy diamond elite machine and the cable actions are MUCH smoother than this ones. Save your money people. It may have 4 stars but im sure those are just people that work for the company trying to sell their products. Avoid this thing.

  • Ok

Not smooth at all. I’m cheap but would have rather added 1500.00 to buy one with weights and free flowing 20lb will feel like 80
