Great product upgrade for the Commodore C64.
I use them to test the 5 Volt PLA chip U17 it is protected from the over voltage 12V, if you accidently plug into the U18 socket it will not burn out. The pins are sturdy enough to take removing and installing many times. Works the same as the original equipment U17 PLA and runs cooler this and the DRAM and VIC chips were the highest failing part in the Commodore C64.Verified purchase: Yes

Great replacement for old hardware
It does exactly what it says: replaces the PLA chip on a Commodore 64 motherboard. The PLA, along with most of the other chips, can be damaged by heat, time, or other stress. Simple, sturdy and nice PLA replacement
I have used this PLA replacement in tho C64s now, with 250407 and 250425 board revisions. Works perfectly. The PLA is the most normal chip in the C64 to die, and with this replacement I no longer need to worry about that. And the price is good as well!Verified purchase: Yes
