Practical and easy to use, but mainly for fiddle yards
This is a quite practical item. It does make easy to rail your locos quickly and without fumbling much. It can even be used to test rail-fed lightings on coaches as this railer does not have any slope.
However, the design would benefit from some improvements. The current design seems to me fitting to the needs of a fiddle yard, as is more fitted as a permanent fixture or a cartridge than a removable one for using on scenery layouts.
On the underside, the rail slits are etched with close-fitting on the aluminium, making it not easy to fit it properly on the rail. There is no space etched between rails, being 2 slits -- so if you try to use it on a track fitted with decorations such as a water trough, it may just crush it. This close-fitting may risk a layout where tracks are not solidly attached to the trackbed, as the railer "grips" on the rails.
At the exit, the profile is only 0.1mm gap so the transition from railer to track is smooth enough, unless you do not fit it properly on the track. Side etches present on the HO/OO version are missing on the N version.
The back end piece I've got is not yellow with N etched, but black -- not important, just for you to know. It is not removable, so when the reverse direction is set, the loco does collide with that piece. And being low-profile, you risk breaking the underside pin of the coupler. As the HO/OO version does work on both ways, I don't get why the N version does not.
Overall, a nice help for railing locos, specially for those heavy and stubborn ones that are hard to move without power.
