A super smooth base for any kit, first time I have used this rather than a rattle can. Very impressed with the way a little goes a long way.

I used to use Citadel spray primer for my models, but there was always the worry that if the weather conditions weren’t just right it would make the models furry. You need an airbrush to apply this Vallejo stuff, but it’s a thousand times better, more controlled, better coverage, and no fur. Lovely stuff that’s available in an array of colours.

Due to various reasons, I am unable to use spray primers to prime my models for painting. Thus, I have searched far and wide for a good paint on primer, in order to be able to paint miniatures. I have tried GW's imperial primer and the results have been mixed. I have tried Vallejo's own mouse grey surface primer and it is very runny. With some skepticism I decided to try this black primer after reading online that it is way less runny than the mouse grey variant. Lo and behold, it indeed is! I have successfully primed all of my models and ,using a bit of water, I obtained a fine light undercoat without clogging the details of the model. Highly recommended for those who want to use paint on primers, due to various reasons.

I’ll never Go back to a spray can for undercoating. I can use this in the house and coverage is much better. Goes through airbrush without need for thinning.
