Lee Classic Cast Press
Having had good experience with Lee products previously I am not surprised at all by the quality of this press. It's basically the larger version of the one I've used for years but offers increased leverage, smoother operation, and a good bit more space to move around if that makes sense. While it's an absolute beast and provides the leverage to size very large cases, it still provides the "feel" I've always appreciated and frankly, don't get with some of the other brands. The primer catching system is also miles better than any other brand, which may sound like a trifle but when you're picking up tiny primers off the floor, you'll remember what I said. Price-wise there's literally no comparison, it's peers being typically more expensive while offering features that aren't as user-friendly. This press also offers the versatility of a removable die bushing, allowing use of large 1-1/4" dies for larger calibers, especially handy for those that shoot 50 bmg or large black-powder cartridges. Lee Precision Classic Cast Press
I finally decided to treat myself to a new press after using a Pacific press for many years. The prices for new RCBS presses seemed too high for the features although they have a great reputation. The prices for used RCBS presses were great for sellers but were also too high for a buyer looking for a great deal. HEAVY DUTY SMOOTH OPERATING PRESS
This is a very heavy duty press that looks and feels like it would last a lifetime. The setup and setup instructions are excellent and easy to follow. The value for the money can not be beat with this and most other Lee products I have bought over the years. I also bought the Lee Safety Primer feeder. It mounts to the press easily and operates flawlessly on this press making priming fast and easy on the press while resizing and de-priming cases. I like the spent primer catcher tube attached to the bottom of the ram. Works much better than the system on my old press. lee classic press
Don't let the low price let you think that it is low quality, It is not. I started reloading with lyman 35 years ago, and have been on and off with the hobby in that time. Back than I was looking for a press with a turret and for the price lyman was my choice, as lee did not make one then. About 5 years ago I was looking for another turret press and found that lee was making them and had been for a while now. I bought the lee classic turret and was very happy, set up takes a lot of time and a turret once set up, cuts down on that time. I resize 223 (5.56) to 222 and needed a heaver press then the turret's. This lee classic single stage does that with very little effort. From what I have read! Just what I wanted
Broke my ole Lyman Sparten press (1973 circa) and needed to replace it with something affordable and able to handle resizing with out breaking. The mechanical advantage with this press greatly reduces the force needed to be applied. Make sure you have a priming arm in when decapping primers or they will jump out and not go down the spent primer tube. This press works great. I reload: 308, 9mm and 357 mag with it effortlessly. Review of the Lee Classic Cast Iron press
Heavy duty single stage reloading press comparable to anything else made for a good price! Would I buy another Lee Classic press if mine got "misplaced" - You betcha! Would I recommend a Lee Classic Cast iron press to somebody else- You betcha! There are lots of good single stage presses out there but, IMHO the Lee Classic Cast Iron press is in the top three for the value it represents! You will not regret buying one!
