First impression is favourable, but need to assesshow it performs/lasts
Before buying this I had another brand of lightweight mini lopppers which had done me quite well. Its main disadvantage being that the plastic 'anvil' gradually wore down making it more difficult to achieve a clean cut. The ratchet mechanism also weakened over time. It will be interesting to see whether the Darlac version maintains its capability after prolonged use. As a concept I find this size of lopper very useful as it's more manouevrable than the bigger ones.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent loppers for lighter pruning
I already have a pair of large Darlac ratchet loppers that are excellent in all ways. These DP875 loppers are for lighter tasks and have the added advantage of also having a ratchet mechanism. The loppers are very lightweight yet are well made with an excellent cutting action with the exception that I do find it sometimes difficult to engage the ratchet mechanism on smaller pieces of wood that won't cut in one go. I am left-handed so maybe that is a part of the problem. Overall, I am very pleased with the loppers and have used them a lot.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Stand by your branches
I had one of these for 20 years until somebody stole it. Wonderful for trimming shrubs and thinner tree branches, the ratchet really boosts your power. And it's been improved with a sturdier catch.
