Love this tool.
Was always pretty sceptical of seeing these on site, but as the job I was on was making off hundreds of armoured cables, anything that would make the process easier would be welcomed. Very simple and easy to use, and once the blade has been set to the right depth, it literally flys through the inner sheathing of the armoured within seconds. So much quicker and easier than a Stanley knife, and never ever marks or damages the insulation around the copper cores. The struggle is over...
I decided after years of potentially dangerous struggling with larger diameter cables using a Stanley (other brands are available!) knife. a dedicated designed for the job tool was going to be better. Certainly the rotary knife end fulfils that hope. Not sure about the linear end ~ the instantly retracting knife mechanism seems "clunky" although the safety aspect is clearly what they were thinking about in its design.
