Not the best wire stripper, but does the job. I used this type in the early eighties when this design first came out. This one seems to be not built as well but will strip wire if it's not too thick.

  • Most critical review

    Buy cheap, buy twice.

Absolutely awful. Even stripping fairly lightweight thin wires it's hopeless, doesn't strip half the time or takes some of the copper with it. The parts appear not to be aligned properly and the whole tool is loose and rattly. Can't really say too much given the price but I think this is a tool it's worth spending a bit more for a better variant with actual build quality -.-

  • Not fit for purpose

I bought one of these because I needed it quickly for a short job. The plastic handle was warped, the cutter didn't cut (lightweight flex for desk lamps) and the stripper both chewed the insulation without cutting it, AND broke the copper strands inside. These look like quality control rejects that someone in the supply chain is unscrupulously selling to resellers. I've used this design of stripper before and had better success than this. But even the 'good' ones aren't very good, and always fell apart in the end. Anyway, my advice: avoid this and invest in a proper set of wire strippers.

  • A great tool as part of your tool box

This is as it says automatic wire stripper, easy to use and great for comfort, but the downside is it doesn't strip fine cable such as the wire you find on a solar light, it cuts it/snaps it rather than strips it so you have to be careful you don't go using it on lightweight wire, but cable such as mains 3A upwards its fine and then heavy duty is fine up to 17A

  • Very Useful Tool

Using this tool is much better than trying to use wire cutters and so on, you get perfectly stripped wires quickly and easily. I bought this as a spare in case something happens to my existing stripper, so I have been using this kind of stripper for some years. Unlike my old tool, this one automatically adjusts for different wire thicknesses.

  • very flimsy

this is a very poorly made wire stripper yes it works but for how long nobody knows it keeps cutting the wire on thing cable that was in the specification of the machine definitely would not buy another hope this helps in your decision to buy one

  • Easy to use and durable

It's makes life a little easier. Compared to the old snipers. They are quite good 👍

  • Useless tool

Snaps small cables and doesn't strip 1mm t&e, or anything for that matter Pin holding handles snapped and the whole thing has now made its way to the bin Avoid cheap tools is the lesson

  • Cheap - avoid!

Bad quality. Occasionally works but not a patch on strippers costing only a little more. You gets what you pays for unfortunately.

  • Poor quality

Brought to strip wires, but it just cut the end off! Tried thicker wire, and it fell to bits.... only £2.50 so chucked it in the bin...you get what you pay for.
