  • Incredible Skillet

My wife was skeptical when I purchased this skillet. When it arrived, her eyes were rolling around. I washed it up, then did 2 seasoning on it with Crisco. How? Rinse (water only after initial washing), then dry, then put on stove to heat/dry completely, then while hot, give a good rub down with Crisco (or some other cooking oil), then wipe the Crisco off, then turn heat up until the skillet starts to smoke. Anyway, then my wife walked in and saw that I had bacon and eggs cooking and just sliding around in the skillet. No sticking at all. Note, you must warm your skillet up Before cooking. Maybe 300 degrees F. The handle has a very good angle so that there is no trouble putting it on a low shelf in the oven. I do not use any soap after the initial cleaning. Just rinse while warm, and paper towel dry. I use the Blue Paper Shop Towels. They don't seem to leave any fibers behind.

  • great fry pan hidden beneath

after receiving my new fry pan I took it to work and sanded it down smooth and glassy then polished it with a fine grit. I then re-seasoned it using flaxseed oil and the canter method. best darn frying pan ever. no non stick store bought pan can match it.

  • NIce big pan

It is a nice solid BIT WIDE pan , but I didnt know I couldve gotten it cheaper at my local store. But overall it wasnt a bad purchase nor a bad value for something that will last for years, very happy with my purchase.

  • Good with limitations

I knew I was taking a chance using it on a glass top electric stove. Perfectly flat when arrived. After 3 minutes on LOW, the pan had a slight warp. Have not tried on high heat. Still usable so not a big deal. The non-stick pre-seasoning actually fairly good. With an extremely thin wipe of Cisco then fried two eggs with butter. .. no stick at all.

  • Good value

I started out sanding the inside smooth with my orbital sander. The seasoning went away but I seasoned it my self. It's a good little pan

  • Next best thing to cast iron

Love cast iron above all cookware but lodge's carbon steel is closing in on that regard. Lighter weight than cast, but same strength/durability & maillard abilities.
