Built like a tank
I don't listen to the radio when I'm working, I prefer audio-books, so this is perfect, though if you wanted radio you could always use a phone with radio. It's built like a tank - much heavier and more solid than I expected. There's a handy slot in the back to slip your phone in - I use an old spare one rather than my main phone. If you're clever, there's room to park the supplied mains adaptor in the back alongside an LXT battery. One minor quibble - the forward and backwards buttons don't work with all applications, but that's not the speaker's fault. It would be nice if the AUX input were inside the rear cover rather than on the side, but I don't use it, so I don't care. Likewise the USB charge output and external power in. Plays for ages on a 4Ah battery - all day at least. If you use Makita kit, and you keep music/books/whatnot on your phone, this is for you.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Awesome product the sound is rich and deep for a site music player and it's very compact and sturdy and feels very solid it has handy storage for your device and various leads you need it has a usb port for charging you device the Bluetooth range is enough so if your working in the same room as the radio but if you wonder to far you do lose connection the only down fall is it had no radio function but for me it's perfect as I always play music from my device ether phone or I pod and if you have phone signal you can have the radio on anyway so no big deal if had it on full volume with no distortion and on a 3 amp battery lasts about three days a four four days and so on very good product great value as I find with all makita productsVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Tough but gentle
I bought this bluetooth speaker mainly for listening to spotify in my garden and garage, and I'm quite impressed. It's of solid construction and very simple to use, with a decent balanced sound with plenty of punch. I like the hidden flap at rear to slide your phone or small device into. Has inputs for 3.5mm jack should you wish to use with non-bluetooth device as well as a USB socket for charging. Useful addition to site which does the job nicely. Didn't want the additional cost incurred by the FM or DAB radio as I can get this functionality via the phone anyway. Bluetooth connection works without fault when the phone is stored in the speaker, with the occasional blip in connectivity experienced when further away from the speaker.
