Good basic machine
A good basic "mechanical" machine (no digital enhancements). If what you want is a machine for basic household sewing and repairs this might work well for you. It's lightweight and very portable, so you can easily store it when you're not using it. One little hint that (for some reason) is not in the manual that we found helpful. When starting to sew, pull gently on the two ends of the treads behind the machine away from you. This prevents a tangle from forming under the sewing table. Nice sewing machine at a good price
I am an amateur at best when it comes to sewing with a machine. I read the reviews of this machine and found that it’s true that you must make sure that the thread from the needle is left at a length longer than it is left when you use the cutter on the machine (simply advance the thread by pulling it further), or else it will come out of the needle while you sew. Once I got used to that, I have found it easy to use. I did buy some heavy-duty needles to use when sewing through several layers of cotton for masks; this was helpful. I initially broke a couple of the standard needles by trying to sew through those layers. I was pleased to find that the zig zag stitch is quite decorative. Please note that the pictures attached which show the zig zag also have straight stitching along the same line.
