No good in the wind.
The base is made of very thin low quality plastic which gives it no rigidity and the neck of the parasol holder has bent permanently although it has been stood sheltered from strong winds. I don't think the item will last long and we see it purely as a temporary measure. Also, the parasol holder does not lock into place which means that if a slight breeze causes the parasol to rotate it is no longer secured and liable to be lifted out out in the event of a stronger gust of wind. We have not used the item in the wind, only in a very light breeze, but you can not see a gust of wind when it arrives.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The base sits nicely under our garden table, and has held the parasol with no issues. We filled it with water, (although I think you can use sand aswell). Flimsy, bendy buy cheap buy twice.
Plastic is very thin, stem to hole the umbrella is very very high, between the holder and stem it adds a foot to the height of the umbrella so it's then too high. The stem actually bends with the weight of the umbrella. I tried a smaller umbrella we have but the shaft of it is too slim for the unadjustable stem so we had to wrap it in tape to make it fit. Parasol base is just the job!
Parasol base was easy to assemble- the top of the stem comes off to enable you to break the plastic flash which initially prevented me from inserting the parasol pole. Filling it with water was very straightforward. The weight of the base when full is perfect. Our garden can be quite windy and a lighter base would blow over. Too light to deal with light wind / breeze

Small diameter
