A great little comb
I already had a flea comb but the tines were too far apart and it wasn't catching the little critters. This comb is just right. Although my cat has a monthly spot-on flea treatment, he has very thick fur and the flea treatment doesn't do a thorough job. Daily combings are gradually reducing the infestation and his fur is now much cleaner and instead of catching four or five fleas in one go, I am now only finding one or two. I am using it in conjunction with a spray containing natural oils (AniForte Flea X Spray). I spray the comb before using it on his fur. Very Effective For Controlling Fleas
This is the most effective method I have found for controlling fleas on our cat. He is allergic to fleas so we have tried everything previously including pills, shampoos, sprays etc etc. Freddie loves being combed and the prongs are very close together and pick up fleas and their eggs very easily. After the advice of another buyer I used it with a bowl half filled with water and a tweezers. Clearing the comb into the bowl after every comb means they are unable to escape and the ones that try to climb up the side of the bowl can be caught easily. After a few days Freddie showed huge improvement and I am combing him every day to ensure that the fleas do not return. After catching over 100 during the first few days I now catch only one or two each day and very soon should soon have eradicated them completely. The comb also gets rid of excess fur which means that Freddie is less prone to fur balls. A great buy and an outstanding price. The comb is very well designed and is very sturdy. Certainly catches the fleas!
Certainly does the job! My 3 dogs and 3 cats have really suffered this year from very resilient fleas! Expensive treatments haven’t totally eradicated them so I bought this comb to try and help. Wish I had bought one much earlier
I've been using vet-recommended spot on flea control for my longish haired cat but either I wasn't putting it on correctly or it isn't very effective. My cat was licking herself continuously and I could feel the scabs on her skin where she had reacted to bites. The flea comb arrived this morning and I started to comb the cat straightaway. I was astonished by how many fleas I got out. As suggested by a reviewer elsewhere, I had a bowl of warm water with some detergent in it and after wiping off the comb with kitchen towel, dropped the fleas and debris into the bowl to kill them.
